This is my first model post on this board. and,.. its finally finished. !! yay!!! Its as close a replica to the Charlie Hill, Porky Zartman "Filthy Forty" Willys as I can get with my limited skills. FYI That's what the car was know as during the height of the Gasser wars. Charlie and Porky made a point of never washing the car and parking it in the muddiest part of the pits to deter the competition from getting underneath to check out its secrets. I used the Stone Woods and Cook Willys as a start then altered it to a 1940 Model. Ive opened the door and the trunk lid and hinged both. This has been the toughest thing Ive ever modeled, Probably because Ive never scratch-built to this extent before. The engine, (I even turned the stacks on my lathe) Interior, all 4 wheels and most of the drive train have been built by me. Im very pleased with the final result, even if it did drive me away from my loved hobby for 5 months. I hope you enjoy it, and your comments / Criticisms are welcome. Ian

Man I gotta say- you went off the chain on this one! That is one great job there friend~ Sure doesn't fall into the category of a nice, "clean" build does it!? Love the work you did on the driver compartment- realistic! Wish I could pull off that "weathered" stuff! Nice job and super close replica there.
