To anyone who hasn't seen or heard the news, Jeff Halpern (who runs http://www.policecarmodels.com) is reporting that Lindberg is finally, after a three year hiatus, shipping the Dodge Charger Police kits and he should have them in stock by next week. There are several pre-decorated ones, as well as a "blank" that has no decals, but all 8 lightbars from the other kits.
These are police versions of the already existing Testors/Lindberg Charger tooling, so they are Level 3, 150+ part, glue monsters. No crappy snap-tite curbsides for us police modelers this time! ;D
I had begun to treat these models the same way I did getting pregnant and having another kid...but then I managed to to rectify that situation this fall (release date in July lol), so it's only natural this myth has turned to reality.

I've never really been a police car modeler, but these things have my attention. I'll be getting at least a couple...maybe more!

...now to find a couple of Chevy Caprices... Well if you have anything you'd like to trade that you think I might be interested in (you saw a cross section of my interests in that box I got at MDA yesterday) then I have about 14 of those Caprices in my basement. I could part with a couple of them I guess ;D

Actually you need 3 of each Caprices and Chargers, as the Caprices had the beacon in 1991, and strobe bar in 1992. And then the Charger came with both the traditional VASP paint scheme, and the short-lived "modern" scheme.

Yeah I've enjoyed JBOT's decals immensely and I'm happy to see him finally caught up and running. I gotta put in order in for some stuff, he's the only person I know who had permission and is still doing Colorado State Patrol decals, as Bill Bozo got hit with a cease & desist from CSP.
P.S. It's even more work when you start throwing in slicktop Impalas and Chargers into the mix... ;D
