Well, I got paint on it yesterday:   As you can see, the color is not close to the cap color that I was hoping for, and is very much more metal flake than metallic. Didn't come out too bad, but there is a run and some crud on the roof. No big deal, these are areas that will get covered by the Le Mans stripes. There is one real bad are on the passenger door that I am not sure about:  Not going to color sand it as I know this will mess up the metallic. May opt to sand and shoot another color coat, just not sure at this point. May just polish it out and live with it, trying to not get bogged down in painting and repainting unless absolutely necessary. May also need to add more color as the paint looks kinda thin on the high points. Not quite as obvious in the pictures as in sunlight, so I'm not sure if the paint really pulled back or it is just the silver metallic catching the light. I still have silver sparkles on my arms! Thanks for looking and if you have any tips or suggestions on the paint please share them! |

Wow. Been so long this was down on the second page! Got some more done to it:  Still a ways to go, but much closer! Really wish now that I had not decided to redo the upper and the lower radiator hoses. Oh well. Thanks for looking! |
