Finally I'll let you all know: I am working on a diorama. I have been for about 5 years now and I've decided to start posting a few photos. Here's a little taste of what I'm building. An old mobile home trailer frame is a main component of this diorama. This is all constructed out of brass measuring 12" x 7". As time goes on I'll start posting more, but this should give you a taste of the level of detail I hope to maintain throughout the project. I have no completion date, so it will get finished when it gets finished. I'm at about the 300 hour mark on this project. I figure it's about 20% along. Enjoy. The main open web joist. Pinned and ready for soldering. All soldered up.

I never imagined I would be so impressed with a pile of model concrete blocks. What an amazing weathering job. This could absolutely pass for the real thing. Nice work!!

Harron68: Thanks for the high praise that I really do not deserve. Anyone can do what I do, if you follow just one simple rule.
"Build every part as if it were a model in itself."
If your working on a cars starter, just don't slap paint on it. Build it as if you were going to display this little model in a case all by itself. 2 tone paint, electrical lugs, wiring, even a manufacturers decal. Once all your little models get assembled into the motor, it will look breathtaking.
This simple trick has worked well for me over the years.
Good luck, and lets see some little models.

This kind of work alternately makes me want to strive harder, or just give up in utter flabbergastery.
