I just received an e-mail from Micro-Mark. They have their MicroLux paint booths on sale. Can anyone offer some opinions or advice?!? I have looked at the Pace booths. I cannot compare apples-to-apples, they are not the same sizes, specs, etc. The MicroLux ones seems to have better filtration and may be a little less expensive. Any and all help is appreciated!

I've got a Pace paint booth that works fine for my needs. It's the $225 dollar model. I was also looking at a Pasche unit at TCP Global. My recommendation would be to build your own and spend the money on a good exhaust fan/motor. Then you can build it to your own needed dimensions and not be in a position where I am and out-growing mine with my airbrush painting.

Well, I just bit the bullet and ordered the paint booth. I went with the largest one which is 15" deep, 30" wide and 12" tall. It has dual 185 CFM fans and dual exhaust outlets. It is a downdraft style booth. It has a three stage filtration system and a clear hood. I also ordered extra filters and a Tamiya paint stand set. Thanks to my wonderful wife for prompting me to get this. She said to count it as my Father's Day gift! ;D (Why didn't the kids pay for it then ).

Hey Bobby, I TOOK IT OUT OF THE BOX!! ;D Here are a few pics of my setup. Nothing fancy. It is tucked under the stairs leading to the basement. It was near a window that was good for venting to, i.e., not under the kitchen window or a living room window. My wonderful wife, (and I really do mean that), gave up her craft bench so that I could put the booth there. Here is the first pic of it right after I got it together. It's still on the floor. I was so excited that I grabbed the first spare body I had, wiped it off with my t-shirt, grabbed some primer, shook it three times and started spraying ;D Oh yea, there is one piece of the Tamiya paint stand combo. Next are the supplies I bought to get this bad boy in action. Sorry if this elementary to you all..... I cut the holes out for the two vents in the sheet of Plexiglas. We ended up breaking the original window glass trying to get it out. I attached the metal dryer hoses to the booth. I ended up buying an adapter(s) to put on the window vents to get the hoses to connect. Thanks for letting me share this. I am really excited about it. I have not had a good place to paint since getting back into the hobby. I keep my 350Z in the garage so it is a pain to move it out whenever I want to shoot some paint, not to mention the dust. I've already got my first paint booth project. It is the Fujimi Porsche Cayman. Look for it soon .

Great looking booth. Now I am thinking my home made one is not up to par. I am glad you posted this, so others could get a good look at it.

Nice setup, what color are you painting the Cayman? Hey Brian, Kristie and I were at Mid-Atlantic Sports Cars and looked at a 2008 Cayman S that was in Macadamia Nut Brown Metallic. I wouldn't normally think of brown on a sports car but it was beautiful, IMHO. That brown set against their gorgeous tan leather interior just made for one beautiful car. We mulled it over for a day or two and figured it was too rich for our blood. Since I can't have it in 1:1, I'll have it in 1:24 ;D Here is a link to the actual car: www.midatlanticsportscars.com/2008_porsche.html

I remember seeing that car, it is a nice color on it with that tan interior.
