You are being far too humble in your descriptions. This is gorgeous!! The color looks great and the cargo net is perfect!

I didn't even think of that Gary. It didn't even cross my mind. Flocking would have been nice in that it would have been a slight contrast in color and texture.

Am I the only one who gets really nervous right before putting the first polishing cloth to the paint??? Anyone else say to themselves "that paint job ain't so bad, why don't I just leave well enough alone"? The Cayman is about half polished out. Not perfect, but not too bad.

Just a quick post to say thank you to all who have posted comments on this build. It is so nice to be motivated to build again. The final assembly is taking place now. Putting in the glass, headlights, taillights, etc. So far the parts fit has been great.

You get two thumbs up just for the patience and time it took to do the window trim and interior color matching.

Wow - a spectacular job, especially on the paint job - everything looks really clean. The only flaw I notice is the light bulb script that is still showing through on your shiny hood - ha

I am still in shock that he painted AND polished it!! Nice job, I got to see the real car when it was in the showroom in Morgantown at his old location and this looks just like it.

Beautiful build! I absolutely love that color. It's pretty close to Porsche's Macadamia Metallic. Thanks for sharing! Chris

Thanks again guys for the nice comments. Beautiful build! I absolutely love that color. It's pretty close to Porsche's Macadamia Metallic. Thanks for sharing! Chris Chris, the whole reason I built this car was to try out Testors One Coat Lacquer paints. I had picked up 1 each of a bunch of different colors at a model contest. One of the colors was Root Beer. In some of the pics the metallic flakes really pop. In other pics they are more muted. In person it is somewhere in between. As I have said before, brown would not be the first color to come to mind for a sports car but as you can see in the picture Gary posted above, it works really well on the Cayman! This fact of wanting to try the paint coupled with the new paint booth and a fairly simple Fujimi kit got me going again.
