Land Rover - 'Proud'

This is an Italeri 4 wheel drive 109" LWB kit I bought on Ebay. I am not completely finished with this kit yet. I still have many extra accessories to add, which I'm waiting on. I call this little vignette is called 'Proud'. The African driver is proud of how he managed to pack his entire belongings in one go.

The idea comes from looking at many pictures of various overloaded vehicles from around the world. Some more rediculous than others. I am adding another figure of a guy taking a pic of the African driver and his personal belongings.

Now that is just awesome!!! I hope he doesn't have any low bridges to go under, or he's gonna lose that TV set! I sure hope you share some of your techniques with us.

Now this is very cool! The more I look at it the more I see. Nice weathering on the body. Great job on the cargo. I would like to have a more in depth description of some of the work you did to this. For example, how about the TV? Did you make it? Any and all info. is appreciated.

Thanks for the interest John. The idea for this build was taken after looking at many 'overload' pics of the same theme. Here are some examples:













There are others ans even extreme and funny.

The TV is a resin made that I bought at a exhibition. I added the glass by cutting out a clear piece of plastic. Most accessories I bought over on Ebay and others I just made using tissue to represent the batik material. The sheets and/or bed rolls are tissue or cloth soaked in water and colored. The black tarpaulin is garbage bag that I just cut to the right size.

That is the first model I have seen done that way. Great job on the detail, You can tell it is well thought out.
