Here are some pics of my current project. I am doing a scale 1/8th mile dirt track in 1/87th. Below is the track, and the mockup for the pit area. Here you can see where the pit area has been done. I still have to add ground cover retaining walls, and fencing yet. Stands will be coming soon also.

Today besides 3 other projects going on, I get the fence ready for the front straight away in front of the stands. All I ned to do now is paint it, and glue it in. Next up will be the guard rails. At the link below is a short How To on it's construction. s8.photobucket.com/albums/a2/mercman51/Tutorials/Fences/

A lot of work going on there! Even at 1:87 scale this looks pretty darn big! Keep on posting in-progress pics.

The Mustang looks out of place with those 50's cars, but a cool build and can't wait to see it finished.

I also have a jalopy class 48 and older. If you click on the link below you can see what I'm doing with this build. s8.photobucket.com/albums/a2/mercman51/Fall%20Classic%20Race/Here's apic of one of the jalopy racers. Loaded up for the track.

It's looking better with each update. How big is it? Length x width in real inches.

The main base is a 2x4 foot sheet of plywood, with a 3 inch base under it. The track is a little over 7 1/2 feet total. About 5 inches wide.
The pit area is the same as the track base only 15 inches instead of 24.
