I would like to seal flat over some weathering detail work, decals, and enamel paint. I have some DullCote, but it is lacquer based, and I'm afraid it would ruin everything, especially the enamel. What do you think would be best to use for a final coat of clear flat? Thanks, Colby

dullcoat should not harm the enamel, i've used it over everything from enamel to waterbase with no problems. i also use microscale microflat, tamiya clear flat base and floquil dead flat.

Krylon makes their Crystal Clear in a Gloss and a Satin finish. You can get it at WalMArt for 3 bucks a large can. It is an Acrylic (like Future). I use it over what ever kind of paint I have on the interior it replicates leather very well. I haven't had a bad paint reaction with either one. The Gloss is very decal friendly. Never tried the Satin over decals but I am sure it would be OK.
The part # on the Satin is 51313, the Gloss is 51301.
Hope this helps some.

Colby, Bill has some stuff he uses on model railroad cars that he says is much better that the usual stuff. It's some type of matte finish made by....Grumbacher, I believe. I think he said you can get it at Micheals? Call or email him, I'm sure he'll tell you all about it!

Colby I use Testors Dullcote. No problems. Just to be safe whatever you use TEST it first on a scrap piece.
