How about this.....the third model in three weeks! This is the last of my "slump busters". This one turned out to be a little more work than I thought it would be. As of last night, all that is left is the landing gear and bay doors. I won't go into a lot of detail about the kit. It is 1:72 scale and is still pretty good size. I thought it was pretty simplified, not too many parts. The fit wasn't very good IMHO. It has raised panel lines. If anyone has any questions about the kit I will try to answer them. Here is the kit. I painted the thingypit and installed it in the fuselage. I then used Silly Putty to mask the thingypit area for when I painted the body. NOTE: ;D ;D I cannot put in c-o-c-k-pit. It automatically changes it to thingy. (Yea, I'm giggling)

Yes indeed a cool project i have built this kit as well for the same reasons and this one is my all time fave but the B-29 is a very close second Willie

Yeah Hunter & Willie, this is just a cool looking and an outstanding performing airplane. I agree with both of you on the other two. The A-10 is amazing in what it can do. I have a B-29 model and it is HUGE. Among my other favorites, based on looks, are the F-104 Starfighter and the B-58 Hustler. I like the delta wing planes. There are others, but these are near the top. Here is what the green silly putty was hiding. I have no idea how accurate the thingypit area is. I just tried to pick out the details. In the pics you can see a little bit of clear paint build up along the edge. It has been cleaned up.

That is a good looking SR-71, great job on the aircraft. My Favorite Aircraft is the A-4C skyhawk (Navy's hot rod) wasn't the fastest but you can put that little a/c in places that no others could go and turn on a dime and give you 9 cents change. Great job on the SR-71. John

Hunter - you asked about the ship. I really haven't done anything to it. I need to finish one more project and I will be getting back to it. Here is an update on the SR-71. I do know this. I am glad a bought a larger sized paint booth! There is really no difference in the pics I'm going to post now and the final product except for the shine. You need a glossy, or smooth, surface for the decals. Then you lay the decals down and dull coat them afterward. I didn't do a very good job with the gloss coat. I ended up with some silvering of the decals . Here are a couple of pics. The next batch of pictures should be the final product!

Good looking build!!! I know it is a real beast to get the decals to snuggle up to the corregated surface. The "front office" looks great. I detailed mine out and all you can see thru the glass is the red head rest.

Yes, really nice job. With the ruler there in the pic, it is bigger than I thought it was. Good idea on that matte job and Krylon - turned out great for this bird and the look it needs to have.

Nice Blackbird John. I need to build one of those to sit next to my X-15. That's one heck of a slump buster!
