Started with a pepto pink Beetle
Soaked it in a lacquer thinner bath. Took a bit of scrubbing and wire brushing to clean it up, guess cause it was a bit older.
Flat blacked and painted steel under the frame, stuffed poster tack in the wheel holes, then chromed. Masked and chromed the bumpers and headlights. Painted the interior the same as the body.
For the paint, I've been wanting to try the gold base, clear red combo. I've seen it done on allot of builds. A few coats of future and she's done! I like how the paint turned out, I'll use it on a future model for sure. The window looks like it dropped a little in the pics, but it looks OK In person. Oh, made a tiny Ohio plate with my printer. Fun little redo!
