Would anyone be interested in doing a 24 Hour build while the Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona is taking place. Would start on Jan 26 and end Jan 27 when the race starts and ends. Must be a car that would race in the race or have raced at some time in the race. Can paint the body ahead of time but nothing else. Must post pics before race.

Nice idea Bobby but I can't see myself with the time to do it. Sorry Buddy, maybe next time.

Sadly, I had to vote 'no.' At this point I can't finish a model in 24 days.

I had to vote 'no'. It's very dificult to me finish a model for a long time. Sorry. However, the idea is very nice and tempting. Thanks.

If still interested guys the date will be Jan 19-20. This will be done along with the NCWVSM Club down here. 5 guys are getting together at a members house. Here are the rules they go by: We will be doing our 24 hour build this year but we don't do it during a race. We are looking at a start time of noon on Saturday, January 19, and ending noon on Sunday, January 20. I think the subject is "bring whatever you want to build as long as you can start and finish it in the 24 hours". Rules are: You are allowed to glue on 3 parts to the body in advance. This will aid in trying to get the paint on ASAP. No sanding, putty or filling prior to the start. That's it. No other rules. Plan out your build in advance and good luck.
It would be great to have clubs from all around, connected by the internet during the 24 hours, participating in the build.
So Adam and Paul if still interested let me know. I may pick another model to build.

Hey Guys, I'm one of the 5 guys that will be in the 24 hour build that Bobby mentioned. This is our 2nd year. The first one was a lot of fun. Here is a link to Gary Kulchock's fotki site. He is the one who came up with the idea for our club. While you're there be sure to check out this truely awsome modelers other work. Gary is one of the best. public.fotki.com/gkulchock/24-hour-build-jan-2/You'll be surprise how much you can do if you plan ahead. We did NO painting in advance. We had two food dehydrators to dry the paint. All 5 of us shared a paint booth. Again, planning was critical. Lots of coffee and some goodies helped too. We played car/racing related movies for all 24 hours. Honestly, due to a very heavy snow we had to quit after about 21-22 hours. Only one member completely completed his car. The other 4 got close. Lemans type cars are very hard to do in 24 hours. Look at the list of the cars that were done on Gary's site. This year we are going to allow slightly easier (read - less parts) models. If anyone has any questions that I may help with, please let me know. Good luck to the guys participating. BTW, Gary will post update pics every few hours during our build. Check in and see how we are doing.
