Had a little fun with this kit and learned a few things. Based the build off of the 2011 New York Auto show Mercedes Benz SLS AMG car. Colors are Scalefinishes Gulf blue and a touch of orange in the grille and calipers. The wheels were stripped and sprayed in Alclad Chrome. I used Scalefinishes window tint on the rear tail lights. Interior is basic black, and nothing special. Thanks for looking. Chris

BEAUTIFUL!! I saw this over on Spotlight Hobbies and followed the link to your Fotki. I personally think that small touch of orange is perfect. This is such an overall clean build.....fantastic, (can you tell I really, really like this ) Thanks for sharing it with us. One question for you. Can you tell us a little bit about the kit and how it went together?

John, the kit is really well engineered. Lots of tight tolerances where you have to be careful of how much paint build up you get on certain pieces. It seems every kit has one door that is tweaked. I utilized Bob Downie's method illustrated in Scale Auto magazine expanded review of this kit. I was not prepared for the amount of detail painting and other pieces that needed to be body color. Make sure to read through the instructions to know what parts need to be body colored. Fitment on everything was very good. I was happy with how all the pieces fit together without being fiddly and loose. This is one of those kits I would build again, and knowing what I know now it would be better than this piece. Chris
