Shinston Crew will be ready to build. Our theme for 2013 is "Drag Racing". We are all going to build a drag car or truck. Should be fun. Room for some to join us. Just let me know.

Havent got mine narrowed down yet. I will be building and Jeremey will too. Not sure about Brian and his work schedule. I have room for people to join me. We decided on a Drag Race Theme but join us and build what you want to build.

I am planning to be there, but like Bobby said, just depends on work schedule. I have a few kits to pick from or may try to do as much as I can and make a custom dragster out of a few different kits.

Evan's birthday is that weekend every year so it's difficult for me to participate. However, I may try it from home this year. I need to start looking thru my kits to see what I have.

Just over 3 weeks away and I have done very little planning this year for this big event. Let's get everyone up to date on how we are doing this, this year. I will still be keeping the majority of our groups build photos on my Fotki site for those who want to see it all or would like to see all the photos, but the main area to post will be Facebook. www.facebook.com/events/list?__req=5#!/events/334011736695054/ Don't have a Facebook account? Get one! It's easy to sign up to and you do not need to use your real name if that's the problem. Join in at the above 24 hour build site and comment and post away. I will still try to keep a log on my Fotki site, as I have in the past, of all those who are building, where your from, who's building with you and what you are building if you send me this information. The Fotki site I will be keeping is as follows: public.fotki.com/gkulchock/OK everyone. Hit me with your information!

One additional thing I wanted to mention. I have had a lot of friends and some modelers who have asked to stop by my house during the build and see what we do. I would love to have everyone stop by but this puts a real cramp on our building and trying to get finished in the 24 hour time limit. Please everyone, tune in via Facebook and my Fotki site. This will allow us to do what we are here to do, build! Thanks so much for understanding!

My build: Lets start with a Monogram Paddy Wagon Let's paint it a deep red .... ..... and add in some Yuengling decals I"ll create. I'm adding in some Firebird Designs woodgrain decals for the Paddy Wagon. I'm wiring the motor (w/Detail Master distributer), making the front end steer, and adding in a half dozen or so beer barrels to the back end. I'll also need to replace the radiator mesh pattern with some screen. Finally I'm planning on installing a scratchbilt Yuengling beer tap for a shifter knob. Different wheels and tires? Undecided as of now. So how about your build?

I'm in with Tim Richmond's 1987 Monte Carlo, built as his "last win" car. I'll be making a few corrections to the basic kit, but not going all out with plumbing and wiring. It'll basicallly be a "shelf model".... Powerslide decal sheet....

At about this time one week from now we will have another 24 hour build under our belts! As with every year I plan to finish my model in the 24 hours. I usually come very close. This year I will be doing the least complicated car ever. Good luck to everyone!

Won't be able to make it this year. Work issues came up. The owner is selling out after 43 years. Still have my job but just too many things to figure out at the moment, I couldn't really focus on the build anyway right now. You all have fun and I'll be checking it out this weekend...Good Luck!

Just a quick observation from someone who has taken part of every 24 hour build. It doesn't seem that we had much interest, from the board members, this year. Looking at past years we have had 7 and 8 pages of posts. This year, only 2. I am going to assume it is because this year the build was opened up to Facebook. I know I haven't posted anything other than the "this is what I'm going to build" post. So, what do you think? Followed it on FB or not much interest this year?? I'll be interested to see what everyone thinks.

This was my first time, and I posted on the FB page and on MCM, but I have to be honest.....I didn't realize how little time I would have once I got started. My original intent was to post in both those places, plus here and on my club's forum, but I just flat ran out of time.....wasn't even able to comment much on the other's builds! As it was, I finished right at the 24 hour mark. Next year I will plan better, lol!
