Well to start, the first thing i remember is Todd Buckles yelling across the room "BOB! YOU LOOK BETTER IN A BIKINI!" LMAO! what a butthead! im gonna get him back! hehe
there was about 100 entries i think they said? this was a "people's choice contest so there were kids and adults voting for their favorite models. taking into consideration most of the votes came from people that didn't know how much work actually went into the models they viewed.....it was not so bad!
I honestly was in a huge brain fart at the time they announced and i heard my name and had no idea what i got lol
i ended up with 1st place in Curbside Slammers with my '53 chevy bel air. they awarded only one award for each category, so there was about 10 trophies all together i think?
i had a good time and met several people for the first time. Todd Buckles is much uglier in person, but a very nice guy and i think he is a cool cat! Brandon Robb really got tall and skinny ,shaved his mountain man beard off (kidding) lol Dwayne Bressem was nothing i had pictured in my mind, but none the less a cool guy to know! There was an announcement that someone had car probs in the lot and needed a ride so i volunteered to give the dude a ride and LOW AND BEHOLD......he was a member that i didn't know lol (Chris Petersen). Steve Kohler was in full force with his resin and plastic , Ron Koziel (dpmcc forum member) was there hooking people up with magazines and i swooped some up! Modelhaus has some sweet wheels and i bought some, Arrowhead was there and i am sorry to say he is in Chemo again , i hope he gets well soon. there was a lot going on and it was a great time! thanks and it was a pleasure to finally meet all of you that came!
PS....Todd , i know what i am up against and i am willing to send you some how to's if you need LOL.....*kiddin*
