Hey there everyone. My real name is Ron (and I'm NOT afraid to use my real name either 
) and my screenname is bondoman2k. I got the name bondoman given to me back in the '90's by midwest builder Kenny Brickell (some here may know him). Pretty much everything I build has Bondo in it somwehere...lol. Also, since I've been an Auto Body tech for 36 years, the name fits....lol. I added the 2k when I finally got a computer of my own. My favorite cars to build are Rat Rods and Kustoms, but I do build other stuff too. Been building models off and on since I was a kid, but in the late '80's and '90's I got into it really heavy, making it to just about every contest I could all over the midwest. Won a lot of awards, and met a lot of people, most I don't even think are still building (at least I can't seem to locate them anyway). One of my builds was even inducted into the "Lunatic Fringe" by the KKIM at the Cincinatti Challenge in either '91, '92, or '93 (can't remember which...lol)I met my late wife in 2000, and dropped everything and moved 1200 miles to be with her in south Texas. Pretty much got out of building completely in 2002 and concentrated my efforts towards my other hobbies, customizing Hot Wheels cars and HO drag slot car racing. After my wife passed away in July of 2010 I started to wonder about maybe getting back into building and in February of this year, after a 10 year hiatus, I decided to build one for a local IPMS contest here (that's 'the only game in town' around here locally). It's a '29 Ford Rat Rod pickup. which I will be posting here soon. It took a second place in Street Rod class. I was pretty shocked at the result but it definitely motivated me to start building again! ;D (forgot to mention I 'dabble' in resin casting, cast HO drag slot bodies and some small 1/25 model parts, working on many more molds to start casting some small stuff like NOS bottles, wheel covers, and other stuff)
Not sure if there's anyone here I know, but there are some names I recognize. Looking forward to posting pics and seeing all the pics from others, and getting ideas for my future builds, and meeting everyone!
