Welcome to my first-ever Box-Stock entry for a contest. I kept having to check the directions to make sure I didn't forget anything...These sure do go together a heckuva lot faster than when you're building a full-on custom or even just super-detailing something! -Shag
Let's see... I combined the two steering wheels in the kit to form a new custom wheel, I had to use the steelies as the tires for the optional Cragars were much too aggressive for this kind of build, and the Cragars themselves were too wide for these tires-I really would've loved to have them on this build, but the painted steelies with the trim rings stay in the era anyways. I was going to use the Carson top I made for 'Just Peachy' which is a combination of the stock up-roof and the custom option half canopy but to be honest I like it better with the top-down option....The chassis is painted the same color and detail-painted. The optional dual horns under the hood are hollowed out as well. It is painted with some mistake-mix automotive B/C C/C and I'm extremely happy with the way it turned out. The only flaw I could see is that I didn't eliminate the passenger side trim completely where I trimmed it back...Can't be fixed now. Got in too much of a rush. I modified the body further to utilize the front bumper with the custom front-end option as I feel it looks better... Can't stand all the flash on the bumpers though!! Even after trimming it is so noticeable. The best thing to do is strip the chrome, sand all the flash off and send it out for re-chrome...I learned alot with this as far as where I failed to perfect the factory stuff....Even a box-stock entry can take quite a bit of time to make it right and that is something I didn't even think of when I started this-beyond perfecting the body options...I'll give it another whirl someday. -Shag
