I just finished this one, a model of my own race car from 1973. I worked for my dad, who was also my sponsor, and ran in the hobby division at the Athens (GA) Speedway. I also ran a few races at Hartwell Speedway and Winder-Barrow Speedway.
The body is the Revell '56 Chevy Delray. The chassis is from the older Revell tri-five kits...one of the ones with those opening doors. I scratchbuilt the roll cage and Volkswagen gas tank, and everything else came from the parts box. Paint is Model Master Hugger Orange and gloss black.
Although it took me awhile to finish this one (been working on it off and on for two years now), it was a blast to build, and I'm very, very happy with the way it turned out. I wish I could go back and do it all over again....man, I miss the 70s!
