First you will need these. I bought the yarn needles for the extra large eye on the head. Next take you cutting tool, Dremel with a cut off wheel and proceed to modify the needle. Before and after . The cork is so the needle wont go into your finger. Select you weeds that you'll be using. Shown is some nylon fake plant material, straw broom, and rope. The rope could be predyed, or use some old rope that has been weathered

Next take you weed material and place it like shown. I would suggest painting the base first with a basecoat of ground paint, but don't add dirt or anything else till done, depending on what you are going to use for ground cover. Place the tool on top of the base, and push gently into it, to a relatively good depth, 1/8-14 inch depending on the base thickness. You don't want he weeds to come out. Repeat as needed, and position however you feel. Below is a example of the different styles. Finally take a scissors, and trim the weeds to the height you want. Well that's it hope this helps you out. Class Dismissed.

Great tool idea! Also, in addition to real small bits of plant material, the rope and yarn fiber material is even better. For modelers, a diorama background makes for fantastic fotos and as a permanent home display for favorite or newest models! Thanx a bunch!

So simple yet so functional. The white foam board is so improved with just a simple trick. I have plans for it.
