All I can say is THANK YOU Revell. This is a kit we have needed for a while. Body is very nice and crisp detail. All parts look great. This kit has endless possibilities. From stock to all out drag car. I already bought a resin hood from Alex Evans(67Impala427). Here are the pics:

Looks like a great kit. If nothing else, I'd buy it just for the cop parts. Can never have enough of those.

Hi bobby. Thanks for the review. If you aren't going to use that stock hood I can sure use it. Been thinking about mastering a custom cowl. I haven't been able to get my hands on another. That kit is selling out everywhere.

Mustang Police car! I can see why a limited edition sells fast. My only concern is model companies may see "limited editions" as a way to maximize profits from the fewest kits. Not good for the hobby and those who can't find one to buy.

It's not a limited edition, it's a "Special" edition. It's just a marketing line for Revell, along with Street Burners, California Wheels, etc. I have no idea what makes one issue of a kit "Special" over another...eg the first '62 Bel Air was a Special Edition, the second issue of as a Bel Air SS was a California Wheels. There will be a drag-racing version of the LX coming in 2014, now why that wasn't special, and this wasn't a Street Burner...who knows. I guess it makes sense to someone in up there in Chicagoland.

Limited Editions would be something like the Model King '57 Ford with Police Options that's coming out in July, that is a run of 5,000 pieces. The "Special Edition" '57 Ford that came out before Christmas was a normal Revell run, and there's the NASCAR version that's due out in the fall probably under the "Motorsports" marketing line will be a normal run.

That looks like a great kit! The police version would be fun. I looked at your other pics....that hood looks good. It brings visions of the hot rod Mustang being stopped by the cop Mustang.
