Well, after more than a year I have decided to build something! Actually spent a couple of hours cleaning and sorting various parts! I am starting with an older issue of Revell's 1937 Ford 2 door sedan. I really like the overall look of the car, but need to seriously change a few pieces. First up, the independent rear end has got to go. And the Chevy motor. What I am after is a slightly rodded, sort of stock car. Flathead V-8, original type rear end, dropped front axle, Ford steelies, and wide whites. My initial thought was to just use the chassis from a '37 Ford pick-up, along with the wheels and hot rod version flat head. But, the pick-up proved to have a shorter wheel base than the sedan. Another option is to use the axles from the truck, and transfer the needed cross members to the sedan kit chassis. But, after a bit of research, I want to try the chassis and suspension from the Revell 1940 Ford Coupe. Looking at the directions it has the right parts I want. Just not sure how that kit chassis will work under the '37. Open to any ideas / suggestions.

Sounds like an interesting build David. Some pictures might help. Haven't built the 37, so can't offer much advice. Looking forward to watching your build though!

Thanks Bruce. No pictures yet. Looking at changing the motor to a flat head Ford. Kit engine is Chevy, and the chassis is kinda designed around that. Been looking at different set ups to use. The '37 Ford has a slightly different wheel base than this kit. Going to get my hands on a 40 Ford street rod and see if that chassis and running gear will work under the '37. I also have the convertible version, but that is even more customized. Late '80's / early 90's styled interior, same Chevy engine, and an A-arm IFS.

On a different site a builder is doing a deuce highboy in a slightly modified style of the '50s or so. Your '37 will be interesting and I hope if another more traditional frame doesn't fit, at least some parts can be altered for the right look. I'm getting excited to see what you'll do, thanx!

Thanks! I can make it work, just trying to do a quick change out on the chassis. Wanted it a little lower than stock, at least in front. And definitely want a flat head in it. I also have the convertible version, but it is even more so in the late 1980's / early 1990's style. Nothing wrong with those, just not my preferred style. Hope to have progress soon, but it will be slow going. I have a 10 y/o playing basketball, and a 7 y/o in gymnastics, getting ready to start cheerleading!
