Hi there, I'd like to introduce myself. Some of you may know me from other forums, but for those who don't, my name is Ryan, I'm a current serving member of the Australian Army and believe it or not despite being an avid modeller, I don't build AFV models...
I have been building 1/24 & 1/25 scale trucks for over 2 decades now, in the past 8 or so years I've been getting slightly more adventurous and have been trying multi media kits, not just working with, but casting my own resin parts and scratchbuilding.
Some of the builds I've done in the past 8 years include:
My very first attempt at scratchbuilding... a 1/25 Demag AC665 with working outriggers, rotating super structure and boom that can be extended to around 2 metres
My first resin conversion kit, one of Auslowes K104 transkits (with about $200 worth of parts on it)
Not one that I'm really proud of, but on of the Mad Modelle 8x4 Scanias
One of my more recent builds, a conversion of the Moebius International Lonestar, to a Harley Davidson special edition wrecker. This one has custom made Photo Etch, custom made Decals, modified bonnet/wheels/bumper/sun visor etc, resin day cab/grill/headlights and heaps more mods.
I've had a custom build on the bench for a few years now that keeps getting pushed aside, it will eventually be a replica of the Australian Army's Mack Heavy Recovery Vehicle (HRV)... but that's a long way off.
Currently on my work bench is a Mack Trident (Auslowe conversion) that I've made tri-drive and am adding heaps of other parts to, I've also converting one of the Meng Ford F-350s to Right Hand Drive and will be making it a service vehicle with tool bins etc on the back.

Welcome to TMM Ryan, it is great to have you here with us. The models you posted are most impressive! If you can, it would be nice to see any work-in-progress pictures of these or your current projects. You could start a new thread in the appropriate section.

Welcome aboard! Very impressive work. And I'll echo what John said - if you get a chance post some of your current work in the Work In Progress sections. I always enjoy following along, and always like to learn a new trick or 2!

Welcome to TMM Ryan, it is great to have you here with us. The models you posted are most impressive! If you can, it would be nice to see any work-in-progress pictures of these or your current projects. You could start a new thread in the appropriate section. I'll be spending some more time on the workbench this weekend (my "mother in-law" just rocked up for a long stay, so i'll be hiding away in the study as much as possible). I've been waiting for some parts to arrive for both, the Trident and the F350, most of the parts are here now so i'll be able to get back into it. As I do, i'll start build threads in the appropriate sections.
The F350 is turning out to be a lot bigger job than anticipated, I was just going to make it RHD and put a service truck body on the back, but the high priced Meng kit has quite a few inaccuracies in it that I want to correct (no detail on the firewall at all, the engine bay sides (wheel arches etc) are bare, exhaust tip is wrong, no steering column etc etc). I'm planning on doing a corrected engine bay and firewall that will be cast in resin and sold (along with the tail pipe and steering column) as a 'correction kit', i'll also do an RHD version of this which will also have the new dash & pedals etc too.
One that's done, and the service truck body is finished (another thing I'm thinking of casting and selling), then i'll get back into the Trident and get it finished too.

Thanks to everyone for the comments, it's always good to find other forums, I'm on a few as well as a couple of FB pages (although I'm slowly getting rid of FB) and the knowledge and skills I've picked up from them has been invaluable.
