I hope you can help me out. I was given a Iwata HP-B Air Brush and a Paasche 500 compressor. What do I have exactly. Since the compressor does not have a water trap, is that a big dea? I know with all your experience with air brushes and compressors, I value your knowledge. Is this air brush good enough to do models?
What controls the air pressure the brush or the compressor. In other words the Paasche 500 I don't believe has an air pressure control, so I am concerned that I can not adjust my pressure, let's say down to 15 psi. Can you elaborate on that for me. Thanks.

Hi Snacktruck, let me see if I can help you out. I am by no means an expert on airbrushes or compressors. I will take them in the order you asked them.
- Water trap. It is my understanding that a water trap is almost a must have when using a compressor. For as little as one costs, I would not want to take a chance and ruin a paint job.
- Is the airbrush good enough for models? I did a quick internet search and it looks like it is. I think it has to do with the size needle and/or tip you are using.
- What controls the pressure? It is NOT the airbrush. Pressure should be controlled at the compressor. You may have to buy a regulator for this.
You said this stuff was given to you, that is great! You may just have to spend a few dollars to get everything up to where you want it. Not a bad deal at all .
Hope this helps. Let me know if you have any more questions or need clarification.
