I need some help deciding what to do with some models I have.
I have two 1/16 scale cars. One Richard petty pontiac grand prix and one Cale Yarbrough thunderbird. Should I build them or are they worth more unassembled?

If the plan is to most efficiently make $$$, then check over a few weeks what those size models sell for. Offer the kits at, say, 15% less than what you've seen ones sell at. Remember, kit quality is a major factor. If still factory sealed, they are worth more. If opened and some parts removed from the plastic trees, worth less. If even a few parts are missing or damaged (scratched clear parts, for example)worth even less. If they aren't sold at your asking prices, either wait and try again or sell at online auction and take a chance.
If you are a builder of at least average skills and like building, by all means, do research and build 'em! Then choose whether to sell or not. If they're near perfect models of the actual race cars, they'll sell for a good price, tho the pay-per-hour you put into each won't be very great. Finally, Cale Yarborough, no relation to the late Leroy Yarbrough. Good luck!

Thanks, I really don't know what to do with them. I've seen them sell on ebay for hundreds of dollars. My concern is putting together a kit that has been out of production. I'll try and post pictures of them. See what everyone thinks. The money would be nice; but I love building.

That's easy. Are you a collector or a builder? Some people buy to collect and proudly display the vintage and rare kits that they might have. Others build everything and anything and proudly display that. Are you looking to make money or are you looking to have fun and build?

Well; I wouldn't say I'm a collector...I do enjoy building and display my cars. I don't know how rare these kits are or even if they are. My kits are open and all the pieces are there. I just don't want to through money away if these are rare.

I also have a Budweiser beer rig with the horses and wagon open and inbuilt to. I haven't seen to many of those either.

Hi rexer. harron68 gave you some good advice. One thing to consider, I thought they just re-released the 1:16 Petty car not too long ago(?) I am not 100% sure. You may want to check into that.
