THANK YOU SO MUCH! Those of us who don't do "braille scale" models or P.E. detailing are getting a real education. I admit I envy your dedication to these projects. Again, thanx and know we'll be enjoying all the ups and downs along the build!
Hahaha, "braille scale"....I have never heard that one before. I am being very honest when I say that I don't know what I'm doing. Yes, I know how to build a model, but man-o-man, there is a ton of work to do to make all of this PE go on correctly and look right when it is on. I have no problem showing everyone the mistakes I make along the way. I may save someone some headaches of their own.

I thought I would post an update on the lack of progress on this build. My wife and I pulled the trigger on something she has wanted for a long time. We are adding a sunroom and deck to our house. When that is complete, we are gutting the kitchen and starting from scratch. I have had to shut down building for awhile. I should be able to hit the bench in the fall. I will still be on the board, just not at the bench.

Fine idea. A sun room sounds full scale work, hope you can adapt to it! Keep the super glue, putty and x-acto knife handy . . . just in case.

Hi John, did you get any further on this monster? The P.E. work is amazing! Bismark was a beautiful ship.

Hi John, did you get any further on this monster? The P.E. work is amazing! Bismark was a beautiful ship. Thanks, Tim! I have not done anymore work on the Bismarck. Back when I was starting this kit I did not airbrush. Since that time I have learned to airbrush and although I am no professional I am getting good at it. I realized that I couldn’t do a good job on the ship with spray cans. Also since starting the Bismarck I have started another ship, the USS Buchanan. That one also is sitting in dry dock. Finally, I started a 3rd ship, the USS Lassen which I am converting to the USS Mason. The Mason is a gift for a coworker at the VA who served on her. I need to have it done by mid-February. I may start a thread on that one. I am fairly far along on it.
