Hello again friends
After finishing the 1958 Caddy, I decided to start another assembly, before I get sick of Mustangs.
The 1958 Edsel was chosen, practically the other side of the coin of the automotive industry in 1958.
But why the hell of an Edsel? I'll explain later, but first let's go to the kit.
I think because of the awful quality of the Cadillac 58 kit, I have found this AMT kit practically a Tamiya.
Joke, the kit is very good, has more than 130 pieces, virtually no burrs and only some brands that almost any kit has.
The fittings are all very good and the kit is very faithful to the 1: 1 car, but nothing is perfect and the AMT always has some exaggerations that I will show later.
First of all I want to say that I started this kit 20 days ago, and I'm trying to assemble it as soon as possible (I'm testing myself a bit), so all the work that has been done so far is the last 2 weeks, and a lot happened.
-The kit is this one from the picture below, I bought new and sealed, but it came without the decals. But for the manual the only decals that come in the kit are the front and rear plates that have a two or three options, so no problem, because I was not going to use them anyway.
-Body
-A cool part is that the chassis comes separated from the floor, which greatly facilitates (100%) the paint job.
-Other parts of the kit.
-By the time I started the Caddy, I had almost chosen to ride the Edsel, and by that time I had glued some parts of the engine. Detail of the valve rockers on the heads.
-A curious fact, 4 tires and 5 white wall tires.
-Photos of the manual.
Okay, but why an Edsel?
I have a project in mind and I would like to assemble the cars that appear on the cover of the magazines Classic Show, and as magazine number 1 has an Edsel on the cover and was the main subject I started the project now with Edsel, simple.
-I found good photos of the car below, which I am using as a reference.
-And the inspiration that is always good
In the next post the assembly.
PS: The magazine Classic Show, is a Brazilian magazine about old cars and that I love. I have the complete collection and I intend to assemble the cars of the magazine cover or some car that appears in the magazine, since there is no kit of all the cars that left in the magazine, mainly the cars here of Brazil
