Hello everyone:
I jut completed the new Revell 1/6th scale Ford 427 SOHC engine. I have to say that the detail and engineering that goes into these kits is impressive. They are pre-painted so all you have to do is assemble them. After a few hours the end result is a very cool and accurate representation of the real thing. I myself am a sci-fi builder by nature but I had to give this a try and now I'm hooked. The engine block is diecast and the remaining kit parts attach to it via small screws and adhesive. I recommend epoxy adhesive. The attention to detail is excellent as is the fit and finish of the parts. The chrome and simulated alloy metals are excellent. All the plumbing and wiring is all there as well. Turn the rear shaft and all the belts and pulleys move. There are several models to choose from and they are a real bargain at Walmart at around $20 each. The dragster engines are a bit pricier and I have yet to find them at Walmart. I highly recommend them all.
