Started this a long time ago. My son and I picket this up prob in 2004 or 5. He messed with it a bit and well, it went back in the box. 2017 I got it out and started back. Got the chassis almost done. Had to do some cutting because of the really tight fit to the body. Gotta get the tank painted. I want to do this for him so he can put it up in his garage. I will really try to finish this one soon! Took a few tries with the paint. Got the foil for the emblems under the paint. My fist shot at trying that trick. gonna try the rubbing compound first to wipe it off

Nice. Good luck with the foil trick. Did that on a ‘56 Bel Air a few years back.

Would like to see the 56 sometime. I snuck it into the shop today and tried the compound, failed. Sure did shine it up though! May just turn out to be the best paint I've done. Hope I don't mess it up. Gonna try the lacquer thinner and toothpick for the scribes now.

Got a little bit done. Ended up doing the scripts with a toothpick and lacquer thinner. Then used some polishing compound to clean it up. Well, didn't go that good but hey, was my first try at it. took some paint off in a few spots but other than that it looks like camaro scripts...if you don't get too close to it! Been trying to figure out this new camera so the pics may look different from time to time.

Maybe I can do better on the rest of the chrome.

Looking good, Tim. Yeah, that trick takes some practice. I found for me a flat toothpick, the wider end cut down to a chisel, works best.

I'll definitely look for a box of the flat pics when we're out. Thanx for the tip Sully.

Not much done here. Life you know. Did try to hand paint the chrome on the door panels. The passenger side came out ok, driver side, not so much. Here's the pass. side. Gonna repaint the driver side gloss black and try to bare metal it. Found that the ol hands aren't as steady as they were awhile back.

I think the passenger side looks really good, to be honest with you. That cannot be easy to hand paint.

Yeah, Tim, we are our own worst critics. I think she looks really nice. We are looking at everything we do with a critical eye. I use magnifiers when I build so that I can see all of the details as I’m working on them. But when I’m looking at my model without them, the things that I thought looked bad are hardly noticeable most times.

Looks pretty good from these old eyes. Tried the foil emblem thing once. I used fine sandpaper 6000 grit? Had good, not great, results.

Thanx guys. Yea, my wife gets at me about overdoing things a lot, Like working on our house she tells me to just let it be the way it is cause if you keep messing with it you'll screw it up. Shes usually right. The sanding trick went through my mind but tried use the polishing compound., just burnt thru where I didn't want to! Next time I'm gonna do the flat toothpick trick that fireguy mentioned. I know what you mean John about the magnifiers, I have to use them more and more the older I get.

Started messin with the distributor. Tried to drill each hole out but broke thru. Tried to figure how to get the wires glued in. So I super glued them on the side of the of the peg and pulled them thru. just need to glue them together and throw some paint. Heres where I'm at right now on it. Gonna try to use the tamiya panel line stuff to shadow the engine.

That looks good, Tim, and THANK YOU!! for using a proper sized wire...lol. No garden hoses coming off your distributor! Seriously, it is not easy to drill out a kit distributor but I think it is worth the effort. Keep those updates coming!

Thanx Nacho! I'm glad we have this thin stuff to work with now. I remember trying to use thread long time ago. Heck,on the 30 ford I twisted thin wire together and painted it to try to get close!

Thanx ny. Just threw some tools up in front of some foam board. Was working on a garage dio some time back but the hobby room changed location many times I just have it on the wall behind my work mat. It's permanent now so I'll add more stuff as I go. I'll get a pic of my little space soon

Sellers market right now! Anyway...Here is the engine before weathering A little wiring and weathering, and some on the dash. tried to print my own decals for gauges and cover with future. Turned out ok I guess. Later guys.

Hi guys! Still trying to get the bench together. The maro,s on hold for now. Gonna try to get back at it soon. Did join a group build on another site. Don't have much room to build right now but I'm gonna give it a go. I'll post it on here as I go.
