I'm just getting back into modeling after 40 years away from it. I'm 77 years old.

I'm wondering if anybody on here builders their own frames (scratch built) and if so what size styrene do you use to make the frame? Thanks for any replies.

I'm sorry that I can't help you with this one. I don't make or modify my frames. If you know the dimensions of the frame rails you would like to copy you can just reduce that size by 24 or 25. I did a very quick Google search and found 2x3 and 2x4 to be a common size. Three inches divided by 25 is 0.12 inches. That can be converted to MM or fractions. Evergreen Scale Models and Plastruct are the 2 most popular makers of styrene that model builders use to scratch build. Check them out and see what they offer. They sell square tube and C channel shapes.
Hope that helps. Maybe someone else will chime in. Let us know if you have other questions.
