Hey guys, this is one of my many firsts, first 1/12 model, first completed model since my grandmothers death, first model completed this year. This is the Monogram 1/12 1957 Chevy Bel Air 3 'n 1 that I bought at an auction for 8 bucks. I purchased it with just the cellophane torn off and the body out of the bag with everything else in the factory packaging. I built it as a street machine because that's the coolest way to me. It is painted Testors Transparent Red over a White Primer base. I made the license plates using ACME License Plate maker and Adobe Photoshop 7.0 to resize it. I added fine mesh to the velocity stacks to make them more realistic. I also added a 1/24 scale Chevy bowtie to the center of the steering wheel. I drilled out the back of the headlight bezels to make it look as if there are bulbs in the back of them. I added the famous "Blue Dot" to the tailights for a more Hot Rod look. And I scratchbuilt a pair of Purple Hornies for the exhaust. Well, enough talking, on with the pictures. More below.
