Well anothe 24 HR Build has came and went. What a blast. Myself, Will and Brianhad fun. No one fell asleep. Will finished his Modified and started on his trailer. I have about an hour of work to do if that. Brian had a few problems and didnt get finished. It seems everyone that participated had fun. Hats off the Michigan crew. John I'm proud to see paint on your build. Great time. Cant wait til next year. Maybe a summer 24 Hr Build?

I'm baaaaaaaaaaaaaaack!
I took close to a 4 hour nap after the build and I'm ready for another 24 hour build now. What a blast! This will go down as the best of the three 24 hour builds so far. Why? Because I actually finished this one with an hour to spare. Check it out. I would like to thank everyone who participated in the build. Was this great or what?
My group here in Morgantown did very well but we had a lot of technical difficulties.
John John, (Nacho Z) came in a close second to my finish. He had a tough build and did a great job trying to assemble a very delicate kit. The assembly of the 6 piece rear wing was the final straw that left him crying. George (of the jungle) nailed the assembley of his '69 Vette and he even wired the engine. Trying to lay down the full panels of decals left him running over the 24 hour mark.My main man, Chip (Ferrari Chip) gave it his all. FYI: Before starting into a 24 hour build, please check the age and condition of your decal sheet. Chips fell apart at about the 18 hour mark when he tried to start decaling the body panels. He's now looking for a replacement sheet.Jeff was not well prepared for the build due to being swamped at his real job. Paint problems "did in" his Porsche 959 first when the white wouldn't lay down properly, and later on when the blue lifted the white. The motor however looked fantastic.
So to wrap things up .... it was the best of times with a few of my closest modeling buddies. If you may be thinking of giving this a try next year .... "DO IT".
I know we are all in this hobby to build models, but the friendships that grow from this hobby are priceless. I couldn't ever wish for a better way to spend some free time than hanging with these guys. Do it guys. you will not be disappointed, trust me.
Later .... Gary K.

The group at my house had fun too. Will "The Waynesburg Warrior" blew us out of the water with his modified build. Brian had a few difficulties. Paint and BMF problems plus the fact he did get a later start due to work. My build went pretty smooth. Lot of detail painting slowed the process. I checked my decals before the build and want to give a shout out to Jamie at J&S Resin for coating my decals and savng them. This 24 HR Build was great. Was a pleasure to hangout with Will and Brian. Will is one of the nicest guys you can meet. A big thanks to his wife and kids for letting him hang with us crazy WV guys. Brian, its always fun to hangout with you. With the club and our model show trips we have become good friends. As Gary stated, if you get a chance next year to get together and do the 24 HR Build please do so.

;D HA HA HA, "The Waynesburg Warrior" . That's hysterical Bobby. Wow did I have Probably the most fun modeling I've ever had. What a blast and if I may suggest it to any of you guys that have been thinking about it, do it. What a great time. Great company and I was always excited to go check the computer to see what you other guys got done. Huge congrats to you Michigan guys for all getting done. Everyone in Morgantown great job and Chip don't worry my decals were screwed up too. Maybe next year I won't try to use a 22 year old sheet. Everything about the whole experience was great. And it's something I'll never ever forget. Thank you to everyone for this wonderful experience and especially to Bobby and the rest of the Boggs family for their hospitality. Especially Jeremey who had to crack the whip on me here and again to keep me awake. Oh yeah and I got to watch the movie "Used Cars" which I haven't seen in a really long time. Great job to everyone and again thank you. Can't wait to join the NCWVSM. Later guys. -Will

That is a nice looking pick up. What paint did you use on the body?

Thanks for the kudos guys you guy also do great work!! Is there any idea how many folks actually finished in the 24hrs. That is a nice looking pick up. What paint did you use on the body? I used Krylon Fusion satin black. I had mediocre results, but I think with real prep (ie; Sleep) it might be OK.
