Your right Scott, Christmas is over, New Years is history and it's time to get into this build. I've looked over my Rommel's Rod fairly well and I've decided to make some much needed modifications. The one piece tracks on the back need to go, they suck. They will be replaced with tracks and wheels from a 1/35 Tamiya Sherman tank, unless I can find a German donor tank before the build date. The kit engine will be junked and replaced with the engine from the Johan 1934 Mercedes-Benz 500K The rear end will be replaced also with the unit from the same Johan 1934 Mercedes-Benz 500K The kit skeletons stink as there is no ribcage. A couple old Monogram Boot Hill Expresses will donate there much better detailed skeletons to the build. Finally, I'll need to to construct the back-half of the boot. There is none in the Rommel's Rod kit and it looks unfinished. There are some other smaller items I'll be replacing too. I can't wait!

No Jerky Scott! Forget it, were staying in West Virginia now. ;D
I will be starting our build with the Sausage/cheese stuffed Jalapenos again this year, and wash it all down with some Guinness.
Less then 13 days now.
Any one interested in doing this build with us? This is some of the best modeling you will do all year, I promise.
e-mail me for more details or read the post from past builds.

I was planning to get in on it, I actually have that weekend off. However if the current weather sticks with us through next week, there is no way I can paint. Hoping for better weather by next week, if not I will just check the fotki site throughout the day. I got a detailed Nascar chassis I need to get going on. Takes me several days to get those things ready to paint.

Gonna try, it has not stopped snowing at my house for a week now. Unless I am going for a fossil type paint job I don't think I could pull off a paint job in the snow. The staying up won't be the problem I am starting midnights tonight, next weekend I will be trying to turn myself back around and usually can't sleep much at all, so that part would just be the norm. Well see. Hopefully, old man winter will take next weekend off. By next year I plan on having my garage built and it is going to have a shop in the back. I am sick of having to wait for good weather to paint.

Hey are the revell custom choppers ok as a kit to build in the 24 hr build next weekend ? Hmmm..there is an idea. That is one snag in my hopes of getting in on the build. I don't know what to build?? I have a couple of those sitting in the closet. Not alot to paint....of course I am hearing now that it is going to be a balmy 40 deg next week. I am breaking out the shorts and flip flops. ;D

Tom: Send me a link to the place you'll be posting photos. Go ahead and throw in that album a photo of the model box, or better yet, you holding the model box.
Post photos on this album during your build to show all the other guys your progress. If we don't hear from you, we will assume your sleeping.
If anyone wants to join in, this is the information I need from you too. Your name and location in the world would also be nice.
That's it! I don't need your social security number your first born, no cash ;D or credit card number, and no sending me your finished model for my personal collection (unless you feel strongly about it).
So just what do get out of the deal? Well to start with, no sleep for at least 24 hours, and no warm blankets or a pillow to cuddle up with. You also get no award or trophy. What you do get is some of the best times you ever had with your modeling buddies, hopefully a finished model, and at my house, we shall receive some of the best eats this side of the Mason Dixon, including one hell of a breakfast, compliments of my wife and daughters.
So what are you waiting for! Get me the information I need and join in on the fun.

Will do Gary, give me till a little later in the week to let you know for sure. I am tossing around the ideas of either a chopper or a 32' Ford Highboy. Unless Bobby wants to send me one of those cool drift cars he has been posting on Facebook. Then there is no question... ;D
