Hey Buck, glad to see you are going to jump in this year. It would be nice if you had someone to build with. I would imagine that it might be a little tough by yourself. Have you got your info. to Gary? He can help you out with any questions you might have. When I pick out a kit I look for one that I have a decent shot at finishing in 24 hours. Even with the "Brolin Rule" in effect. BTW, just to clear my name, the first two years of the 24 hour build I chose white race cars with a lot of decals. I thought it was a fair trade. Decal work can take a good bit of time. (I think everyone is just jealous of me...LOL ) For anyone else out there who is thinking about doing this, give it a shot. It is a blast and if you get done you will have at least one completed model in 2012!

I have been thinking about this. Last year I was going to do it and then couldn't do it because of an untimely death in the family. This year I am thinking that I will be the only one here, sitting in the model shop, trying to stay awake for 24 hours and build a decent model. I do think I am going to do it. So I will go pick something from the stash. What then? Do I host pictures at my Fotki site or to another site somewhere? I will post a picture of the kit in a couple hours. Need to go pick one out. Buck: Good to have you aboard. On the subject of photos, establish a album in you Fotki site, an for now put in a photo of what your going to be building. I will take the address on this site and post it on my official Fotki 24 hour build site. That way everyone can link and look at the photos you'll be posting during your build. Make sure others can comment on them, that's half the fun. I'll be looking forward to seeing what you'll be building. Thanks .... Gary K.

OK, I have picked a kit. I will start an album at my fotki site and post a picture of the kit and a link to the album. I was going to do this yesterday and then it snowed and then I forgot. You gotta watch old guys with no-line bifocals real close.

Ok got her done. I will building this kit. It is open and the decals are gone but is complete other than that. My goal will be to build a nice looking old Muscle Car. Will foil the chrome and add spark plug wires. That's my plan for now anyway. This will answer 2 question. One can I build a model in 24 hours and 2 can I stay awake that long. The last question I have is what time zone are you in? If it starts at Noon your time when will that be for me? Either 9 AM or 10 AM. Are you on Eastern or Central time? I forgot here is the link to the Fotki Album I have started. public.fotki.com/zbuckster/model_car_build_up/1972-chevelle-ss/

So you are in the Eastern Time Zone. I wasn't sure. That means I would start 9 AM Saturday Morning and stop at 9AM Sunday Morning. If someone would confim this I will go away and quite asking questions, or not.

Hey Gary, We will be building from East Stroudsburg, Pa. public.fotki.com/tssmcc/tssmcc-members-albums/tom-schaible/24-hour-build-jan-2/That is the album created for my photos as they get taken. I am building a Firebird. My Godsons are supposed to come up and build with me to help keep me awake. If for some reason they do not make it, my wife has volunteered to build a GTX to help keep me awake. Tom

Ok finally started a folder for the build, a brief description of what's going on. My build will be the 1979 Ford by Model King, my plan is to just get the frame down built due to the amount of scratch building I will be doing, oh yeah this includes the engine also. Donna's build will be the Lindberg 1932 Ford P/U, she will be building this box stock and it will be only her third build ever. Here's the link to my Photobucket and a couple of pics: s46.photobucket.com/albums/f130/Wtsf150/6th%20annual%20TMM%2024hr%20Build/My build along with a mock up of the ride height im going for The kit Donna will be building.

Looks like I will have to live vicariously through others. I was supposed to be home from our job site in N. Central PA tomorrow and have the weekend off, but alas we're stuck up here through the middle of next week.

You are correct, but by Noon Saturday I will have worked 84 hours this week, and I'm lucky if I make it an hour after I get off at 6am. But I expect to see progress from everyone when I rejoin the world of the living come 5pm!!!

Right! I'm ready to go! Got the parts washed, inspected. Lots of flash, so got some body work right off the bat tomorrow. Just gonna glue a part to the body and trunk tonight. Got the paint figured out. Chrome and glass look good. The parts on the left are for the Cutlass.
