Make this the place to post your new purchases. Whether it be models, diecast, bicycle or new ride.

Seeing I was the one who suggested this type of thread / topic to Bobby, I thought I had better get something posted. These two are not "What I got today...." but they are fairly recent purchases. I have said on this board before that I am a sucker for box art. I think the military guys get some of the sweetest box art going. I, for the most part, like the way RoG does their box art, (more so the Mercedes than the Ferrari in this case). So here are two recent releases of two cool cars I'll never own ;D

Hey guys, I know it's been a while since I've posted but I've been without a right hand. I fractured it in 2 places right after NNL East and before GSL in April. It's healing slow, but no modeling for me for a while. So ...... I decided to spend some money. Got this one through the help of Mr. Nacho Z from a local dealer. These five I just couldn't pass up at only $2 each. Still silled inside. ..... and these two I found on the internet. I have all 9 of the Schmid exotic car puzzles from over 20 years ago, but these are about the only 1000 piece exotic car puzzles I've seen since. Cool stuff here.

Got these in a kit and cash deal last month I also got the Ferrari 458 Italia from my LHS, but I waited for the North American box release in May, rather than paying the extra for the RoG box.

Hey James, I like all three of those kits but I'm kind of partial to that 350Z . Here are my latest acquisitions. Picked them up this weekend. The paints are all clears. In the Tamiya brand there are two gloss and two semi-gloss.

One more just showed up at my door. Picked this up from Tom over on Spotlight Hobbies. I owned a '66 Skylark in high school. Pics of it are elsewhere on the board in the 1:1 section. I figure this will be a good starting point. A lot cheaper than the resin kits I've seen.

A friend of mine lives in a little town about 90 miles north of me. He called the other day and said a new Second Hand Store had opened in town. He went in to check it out and there were 26 model cars there. All opened but complete. he called me and we talked about what was there. I told him to offer the guy 100 bucks for everything and we would split it. He says "I will start lower and work up to it". Bottom line we bought all 26 kits for 80.00 cash. That's about $3.07 a kit. We got together yesterday and split the haul. here are the 13 kits I ended up with. The Mercedes is painted and almost finished, the 1955 Cameo has the engine done, The ZZ Top car is missing the tires. Other than that they are complete and good to go. I figure for 3 bucks apiece how could I go wrong. The Warren Johnson car looks to be a perfect donor for a 1964 Chevy II Pro Mod I want to build.

I am sooooooo HAPPY right now!!! This is one of my personal grails. As silly as it may sound, I'm more excited to have the box, the original box, than I am the model. I know they re-popped this model a few years back as I have one, (and yes Bobby and Gary, it is open). I still have the original kit that I built as a kid. It is in pieces and I'm not sure if all of the pieces are there. But that box.....man I love the box on this one ;D. The cover picture is just one of those images that is ingrained in my mind. You don't see these on e-bay that often and you very seldom find one in this shape. It is dang near perfect. If you have ever watched these on e-bay you know they can go pretty high. I have been watching these for a number of years. I finally pulled the trigger. There was only one other person who bid on this. I am happy to report I got this for $47.00 and $10.00 shipping. Have I mentioned I am really, really HAPPY about finally getting this!?!
