I do however expect you to be one of our biggest fans, watch in and comment on our photos once in a while. Take care of yourself my friend.

This looks like a bunch of fun. Modelers getting together for a 24 hour thrash. It's something I just can't put together. There is no Hobby shop in the county that I live in. Really there is none in the counties to the East, North or South (Pacific ocean to the West). An believe it or not I appear to be the only adult modeler in town. I tried to start a model club and even went on a AM talk radio show trying get some interest up. Nothing, not even one reply. There are only 65,000 people in the county so it's like living in the woods. LOL well wet woods, we get 118 inches of rain a year(more time to model). How do you handle the time zones? I mean if it goes from 12 to 12 EST then it would be 9PM to 9PM PST.

Actually the time would be 9:00 AM for you to start. That's not bad at all. Please join in with us.

There is one other modeler in town. Bob Woldeit moved here a couple years ago. Even though Butcher Bob has had builds in many magazines and never misses a model show in a 2 hundred mile circle, he is not active in on line modeling and doesn't even own a computer. Plus he has been out of town on personal business since before Thanksgiving.
So that leaves just me. So How does it work if I am here all alone? Would I post ever couple hours to show where I was at on the build? I would assume that it is a whole build, no pre-paints, no die cast, and no snap-tite.
I have an administrator at my Forum that has done this build before. He lives in North Carolina maybe we can do something. We talk on the phone all the time anyhow.
So any kit any subject?

Here's how to get in on this Buck. Send me your name and your model subject (any model, your choice). We allow you to pre wash the model and glue 4 parts to the body ahead of time. Send me the site address where you can post photos. Open this site to allow others to comment on your build. How offen you post photos is up to you. I usually grab the camera when I get up from my building table to see how the others are doing, change the disk in the DVD, a bathroom break, or to grab a bite to eat. Post and comment on others builds as I find time. I'll get all the information you send me on my Fotki site so everyone can access your build. The Brolin rule is in effect. This means you must paint the body. (See Nacho Z for the reason this rule was established, or you can read about it in previous builds. Less than 2 weeks to go!

OK I PM'ed you the information. I don't know if I can do either. That's build a model in 24 hours or stay awake that long. I am going to try. Being the rookie I am full of questions. I don't really understand how you validate that I am doing as I say and not posting something already built. I guess the honor system is in play. As I progress on the build do I post pictures in a thread here? Does everyones builds go into a single thread? Or do I just upload to Fotki and the members look there to see the progress. I know I am making this harder than it is and once it starts I will get the hang of it pretty quick. I hope. ;D

No one needs to as the whole purpose of this build is to just have fun. There is no award or prize, just the self satisfaction knowing that you can do it. For me, this build is a way to get together with my best friends and do something we never get to do together ....... BUILD. As far as posting photos, your Fotki site works great for the posting.

Buck or whoever might be considering this last year was my first 24hour build. I didnt finish m builds yup i tried two and didnt quite make it also i was by myself building and had a blast checking in to see how other were doing and such but after the build i had already started planning for next years build by the way i did finish the two but only about 3 hours after the deadline trust me even though i'm still a 24 hour rookie its fun go for it dont ya nhate peer pressure LOL Willie P.S. I have a feeling i might have taken on more than i can handle for a 24 hour build but oh well i like to be challenged to me though that part of the fun challenging yourself

I am in for sure. I have a kit picked, color picked and down to 2 interior combo's all picked out. I have a friend in North Carolina that is going to be doing it also. I am sure Max and I will be on chat or something with each other. I was thinking about this today, I don't have a video camera but if I did could we all be linked together? I don't know if you can have more than one on a video chat or not. Any way I am ready.

Guys I hate to say it but I have to back out for this year. I know I have ask a ton of questions and tied everyones time. My wifes brother dies at 3 AM today. His memorial will be in Castle Rock on the 29th. That is about 120 south of here so I can't be in both places at once. Next year I will be here and do the deal. Sorry for any inconvenience this has caused.

OK guys. I'm trying to get the final list together for the build. Check my Fotki site and make sure everything is good for your listing. Scott VanSlooten: How you doing? I hope well. I still have the Michigan gang listed. Is any one building up that way? If so, I need details. Thanks .......

Buck, sorry to hear of your loss. We'll get you in for next year.
One week from this exact time I will be on the road to Gary's house. I have pulled out my kit and will start getting the 4 body parts ready to put on. I am looking over the instructions to get an idea of what should be painted first, second, etc. I also make a list of paint and then put the parts that are that color. This way when I pull out the silver spray paint I can try to paint as many parts at once as possible. I also try to figure out the best assembly sequence.
I am building a black race car molded in black plastic........
