Looks real good so far guys. Wish I could get in on this one but I don't know enough about 4x4's and my time is so limited especially with the baby due next month. Alex. Nesting!!!!! I remember when my first came,I had no idea what I needed to do. Is this your first child Alex? If only one, they will sleep alot for the first few months..... Doug R

So I am staring at t his thing for the past couple nights.LOL! I am not sure weather I want to go long travel 2wd or straight axle 4x4. It needs alot of lift for those tires and an independent 4x4 set up would look stupid due to all the drop down. I think maybe a straight axle leaf spring set up might be best, kind of a weekend mild crawler deal. Thoughts before I go hacking again? Doug Spent all day hanging X-mas lights,no build time yet. I will get it done though.LOL!

5!!!!! What was I talking about. Congrats!!!!!!!
On the blazer guys, I am sorry,I am having major builders block. I have not lifted one of these kits yet and can't get going. I may have to send it Ricks way for a lift,I believe he has done a few if I have the right Rick. I may cut some 84 gmc diffs up and make my own axles then straight axle it. Just wanted to check in. I think I am also gonna go with the real rubber tires and bead lock wheels from the Tomb Raider jeep for ease of work since they will be handled alot. The white resin have to be painted and don't take alot of manhandling.LOL!

Ok, I got it figured out. Going to go straight axle with leafs. I cracked open an 84 gmc to steal the front and rear diff center sections. I will make my own axle tubes and use the rear springs from the gmc and just make my own hangers. Also switching the wheels and tires to the Tomb raider baja claws and bead lock wheels. Hope to have it sitting on it's own weight by next weekend. Doug R

Changed direction again.LOL! This will be a straight axle lift and 38" swampers. I did the rear lift, but need to re-do the axle for the wheel change. I think it will look burly. Using the 84 amt gmc center sections and making tubes. I need to make the rear end mounting plates/blocks then shocks and the rear is done. The front I will find some leafs or make my own. Hope you like it because this is where I am going.LOL! Hope to have it mailed out to Rene' by next weekend? Doug R

Manny, Great idea for the mag. Write up a funny story line and would be cool if someone did cartoons of the kit missing expression and such. It could be really well done like that. Doug R Except take pictures or start with a glue bomb and rebuild it.Like a common chevy truck build or something and end up with a sweet low rider?

Got an hour to work on the model today.LOL! Found some good front springs and mounted the front axle,I made front shackles but they are not in these pictures. Just have to do some clean up,make a drag link and shocks and mounts. Then a custom bumper with winch in it and then it goes to Rene. Hope you like the stance, looks burly in person.LOL. Keep in mind this is my first straight axle conversion.... Doug

Ok this morning I made little skid plates for the diffs and have bothe axles trussed with a drag link made. Disc brakes are found and fitted. Al I have left is to make some resevior shocks and mounts. I am gonna paint the chassis before I send it off. 1) who is still gonna build 2) do you have an idea of color so we can coordinate detail coloring or should we leave all that to the guy painting? Doug Thanks and Merry Christmas-Happy Holidays-etc..
