I,m in for the interior so will be good to know the color so I could match the interior... That's what I was thinking. I wanted to do a little detail painting and paint bead locks I am going to attatch to the wheels. I think I will just pick a color like charcoal grey or someting that goes with anything. Doug I am just gonna go with blue details, was hoping to have the body color a charcoal grey metallic with grey interior? Hopefully that's cool with Tommy? Maybe someone knows his email and can check to see if he has any different color idea?

I just apinted the bead locks blue, lets go with grey interior because it's really neutral to any color. The blue bead locks will go with just about any color too,I just needed the locks to stand out. I will mock back up when I fix the locks to the wheels for your input. I need to make 6 shocks and all the mounts still. Thanks Tommy-you should be safe with any color. Doug

Just did some wheel details and added bead locks.I think it makes the tires look more burly. I did a matching spare,I just need to drill out the hub and lug nut holes for it. Doug You can also see a few more suspension details now.

Threw together a front bumper today. Also decided to just use regular type shocks from the Aoshima toyota 4x4 kit, they have boots and look like regular rancho shocks. I may add a winch under the bumper still. The bumper should also fit closer to the body when final assembly is done. Doug

Why not make an attachement point front and rear for the winch? I could plan a space for the winch inside the cab and imagine the guy owning the truck takes it out when he need's it... One of my friend rigs is equip like that, it's not as strong as a bolted set up but it as the advantage of protecting is winch from wheater and thieves...

OK guys, I am almost done with my part. I just painted the first shock color-I am gonna just do single shocks like rancho rs 5000's All I really have left is to make the front mounts. I flat blacked the frame and chassis and it looks pretty good. The winch I have may not work? I am gonna send it in the kit in case Rene can do something with it. Adam or Rene- the interior and chassis fit may need some mod to get everything sitting correct. I just have it taped for mock up,but can tell we may have some minor issues. Doug

No kidding Adam.LOL! I got the rear shocks on-not real happy with the mounting, but they look like rancho's. I just need to figure out the front upper mounts which I would normally do before painting the chassis.DUH! I want to keep it until next weekend so I can take it to my model club meeting. The only off road models they ever see are when I do them.LOL! And this looks pretty burly. Doug

Rene, I am gonna hold on to this one more week so I can take it to my model club meeting. Then I will mail it out that monday or tues. I only have 1 shock hoop to make today. I did not realize the aoshima shocks were 2 different lengths until I went to make some hoops,LOL! So I had to cut 1 shock shorter. Doug

OK! Will wait for it to come by... but in the mean time, here's some pics of what I've done so far... As you can see, I've did my best to hide as much of it as I can but, un fortunatly, it's not finished and some tubes will be more visible...

Ok guys. I took it to my modelers club meeting (SABA). I got a few guys asking about it. When it was my turn to talk about what I brought and what we were doing the place lit up with questions. They could not beleive that this was a just because deal and that no money was changing hands.LOL! I told them about Bobby and his support of other forums and his always there to help attitude. They were floored about this idea. Most do not visit internet forums and now alot want to know about them. I am gonna take a printed list of model forums next month and hand them out. Anyway,I just boxed it up with a few rally car parts for Rene' and will mail it tomorrow. I threw in 3 H.I.D lights for Rene's roof rack if he goes that route? Doug R

As it is guys, I'm running behind on differents project I have going on and I fear that I might old on to the blazer too long to complete the interior and paint it. I might have to complete the cage and position the seats and send it on it's way to the next builder, is everyone OK with that???

Guys, Rene' has the blazer. One wheel came off,but should be ok.He said it may have come off during unwrapping it. I gave him Tommy's email so he can send it to him when Rene' is done. I Rene is gonna take it to his model club meeting? I would encourage that and tell the story of what we are doing. My club thought it was a really cool idea. Doug
